Dr. Hermann Starnecker new Chairman of MünchenerHyp’s Supervisory Board – Gregor Scheller new Deputy Chairman of MünchenerHyp’s Supervisory Board – H.R.H. Anna Duchess in Bavaria and Thomas Höbel newly elected to the Bank’s Supervisory Board

The Supervisory Board of Münchener Hypothekenbank eG (MünchenerHyp) has elected one of its members, Dr. Hermann Starnecker, Spokesman of the Board of Management of the VR Bank Kaufbeuren-Ostallgäu eG, as its new chairman.

Dr. Hermann Starnecker has been a member of the Bank’s Supervisory Board since 2016, and previously served as the Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board.

The Supervisory Board also elected one of its members, Gregor Scheller, Chairman of the Board of Management of the Volksbank Forchheim eG, as its new Deputy Chairman. Gregor Scheller has been a member of MünchenerHyp’s Supervisory Board since 2015.

MünchenerHyp’s Delegates Meeting elected H.R.H. Anna Duchess in Bavaria and Thomas Höbel as new members of the Bank’s Supervisory Board. H.R.H. Anna Duchess in Bavaria is a businesswoman and the head of the Herzoglich Bayerisches Brauhaus Tegernsee. Prior to her election to the Bank’s Supervisory Board she had served as a delegate to MünchenerHyp’s Delegates Meeting since being elected to this position in 2016.

Thomas Höbel is Spokesman of the Board of Management of the Raiffeisenbank Dachau eG. Up until the end of 2018 he had been the Chairman of the MünchenerHyp’s Cooperative Advisory Committee.

At the end of their terms the previous Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Wolfhard Binder, former Chairman of the Board of Management of the Raiffeisen-Volksbank Ebersberg eG, and Dr. Peter Ramsauer, Member of the German Parliament, stepped down as members of MünchenerHyp’s Supervisory Board due to reasons of age.

Wolfhard Binder went into retirement at the end of 2018. He served as a member of MünchenerHyp’s Supervisory Board since 2010 and as its Chairman since 2016. He had been the Chairman of the Board of Management of the Raiffeisen-Volksbank Ebersberg eG since 2007.

The new Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Dr. Hermann Starnecker, honoured the achievements of his predecessor by stating “During a time marked by major changes in the market and regulatory requirements, Mr Binder committed himself to MünchenerHyp’s success with extraordinary dedication and strong passion. His personality and excellent professional expertise led to numerous impulses that benefited the Bank”.

Dr. Peter Ramsauer served as member of MünchenerHyp’s Supervisory Board since 2014. “His advice as a successful entrepreneur and his rich political experience were very valuable in assisting the Bank to master the multi-faceted regulatory challenges it faced”, said Dr. Hermann Starnecker.
